Aries symbol is the charging Ram, who puts everything it's got into the fight or challenge of the moment.  You're an Aries if you were born sometime between March 21st and April 21st.

Comparison with its symbol, the ram:

Aries is symbolized by the ram. The ram has come to represent male fertility, aggression, and courage. A ram’s horn is part of a cornucopia, the “horn of plenty”, symbolizing abundance. In history, rams were often symbols of leadership. Aries natives are said to be leaders and pioneers.
Rams butt their heads into their enemies, and Aries natives are thought to approach life “head-on”.
The glyph for Aries is a straightforward one — it depicts the ram’s horns.

Gods
  • Amon-Ra, who was depicted as a man with a ram's head and represented fertility and creativity.
  • Krios – Titan of Constellation.
  • Mars – Roman God of War and Agriculture.

Amun
Amun’s first role was as the patron saint of the ancient Egyptian city Thebes, where the ruling pharaoh and his royal family resided. Here he became joined with the sun god Ra and the two became known as the Egypt god Amun-Ra. Amun-Ra was the king of the Upper Egyptian gods and one of the most important gods in Egypt, second only to Osiris. Egyptians gave Amun-Ra the role of a creative power responsible for all life on earth, in heaven and in the Tuat (underworld). Amun was also the father of the pharaoh.

Krios
After Kronos claimed his supremacy as the Titan King of Mount Orthys, and ushered in the "Golden Age", Krios was justly rewarded for his help with control over the South. He was also the Titan of Stars and Constellations, and since the constellation of Aries was bright and dominated the southern sky, Krios chose the ram as his symbol and sacred animal. As a result, Krios' helmet was shaped like a ram's head with horns on it, and the Titan himself was nicknamed "The Ram." Krios was constantly gloomy and uncommunicative, and would frequently stand for days on end and watch constellations, while deep in thought. Krios would also frequently approach his wise and clairvoyant brother Coeus with questions about the future.

Mars
Mars, Roman God of War for whom the month of March is named, was the son of Juno and (dependent upon the source) either her husband, Jove, or a magical flower. He was originally the God of fertility and vegetation, but later became associated with battle. As the God of Spring, when his major festivals were celebrated, he presided over agriculture in general. The month of March was dedicated to (and named after) god Mars, that is why he was also, considered the God of Spring - the beginning of spring also meant the beginning of the war campaigns. He also celebrated in October, the month when the war campaign was over, and the weapons purified and stored.
Though, he adopted many of the warlike attributes of Ares, Mars was seen as supreme warrior god and was widely respected by the legionaries, compared to the hated Greek counterpart. Mars focuses on martial victory rather than sheer conflict.

Myths

  • Golden Fleece
  • Hebrew astronomy Aries was named "Teli"; it signified either Simeon or Gad, and generally symbolizes the "Lamb of the World".
