Love is in the air II

Happy Valentine's Day. I honor the God of Love himself, Eros. Eros or Cupid to the Romans is a God of love. He is the assistant of the Greek Goddess Aphrodite. Eros is the personification of universal passion and love in all its many facets, from spiritual to sexual to romantic to the love between friends and brothers in arms. He is also the God of homosexual love and was a God much worshiped by Greek soldiers. Many Greek armies sacrificed to him before conflict, as love between warriors helped to ensure success in battle. Eros also represents freedom and harmony and is a protector of man’s liberties and free will. He is a creative power and a God of fertility. He also presides over beauty, sexual intercourse, passion and healing. The word “erotic” comes from his name. Eros is commonly seen in Greek Lore, much debated is the birth and parentage of Eros. Quite possibly, there were two Gods named Eros. The first, being one of the oldest of the Greek Gods and the second a far younger

Love is a simple word but it really hard to define. It come in more forms like sexual love, friendship, family love for example. Let talk about true love. People uses the term soul-mate and today we talk about Goddess Psyche and her story. Psyche was not a "natural-born" goddess; she was a "marry up" goddess. Once upon a time there was a king with three daughters. They were all beautiful, but by far the most beautiful was the youngest, Psyche. She was so beautiful that people began to neglect the worship of Venus, the Goddess of love and beauty. Venus was pissed, and asked her son Cupid to make Psyche fall in love with a horrible monster. When he saw how beautiful she was, Cupid dropped the arrow meant for her and pricked him, and fell in love with her. Despite her great beauty no-one wanted to m

Thank the gods that the Imbolc has arrived, Spring is on the way and the Goddess Brigid can comfort us and heat us in the monster storm.  Imbolc is an ancient festival, Celtic in origin, and considered one of the greater Wiccan sabbats.  It is celebrated on the night of February 1st in the northern hemisphere.  The primary purpose of Imbolc is to celebrate Spring's impending replacement of Winter.  In this sense, Imbolc may be seen as a spiritual alternative to the secular celebration of New Year's Eve.  At New Year's Eve, we often see the image of old, bearded Father Time replaced with a young baby.  Father Time represents the old, outgoing year, and the baby celebrates the year just born.  At Imbolc, we have similar imagery; an old crone represents the outgoing year, and turns things over to a young maiden.  Fertility, of course, plays a part here.  The frozen earth is incapable of growing things, just as the old crone has grown incapable of producing offspring.  This bar
